Indian Fusion Belly Dance: Graceful Phrases of Hands & Heart

Dance with compassion and generosity in an undulating flow of energy originating in the heart center.

Purify the mind and body through beautiful, intentional movement. Using Colleena’s Indian Fusion Belly dance vocabulary (from IFF Levels 1 & 2), and exploring themes from contemporary dance, Raqs Sharqi and Indian dance this workshop will move through embodiment practices and warm ups, technique drills and soulful explorations on Sufi music of Rajasthan/Pakistan.

Our class will culminate in a beautiful dance phrase set to the inspiring sounds of Le Trio Joubran. Special focus will be given to expressions of hands (one of the profound elements of Indian dance) and using the Heart center as the impetus for deep undulating movement of the spine.
