Join me in my all time favorite warm up workout routine, an essential for Level 1 IFF dancers!
This routine is designed to:
- Increase the heart rate
- Warm and lubricate all the joints
- Activate limbs and digits
- Build strength and stamina
- Stretch key muscles to increase range of motion
- Mentally prepare us to dance our best by removing Tamas (inertia).
Dancers will feel energized and inspired to start moving with this dance. Upon successfully completing the warm up, your body will be more responsive to the demands of dance. Be sure religiously add a cool down routine to your practice to unravel and trigger your body to relaxation mode.
Please watch the breakdown and mindfully work towards your body’s perfect alignment in each movement. Take care of your body, especially if you have any injuries. And PUSH YOUR EDGE each and every time! This warm up has served me for over a decade as a professional touring dancer, I am happy to share it with you now.
