What we will learn:

Begin with embodiment practices, breath and creative exploration in the somatic body before we warm up with training sequences designed especially for the demands of this dance form.  We will use some of the creative exercises to loosen up the body and find a larger range of motion applied in our dance.  Receive a careful breakdown of Bellydance Gestures and techniques that both focuses on movement dynamics and quality as well as coordinating awareness in the centerline and balance.

We will explore earth and air elements, traditional folkloric and modern evolutions in the wide range of Bellydance movements found in Colleena’s unique fusion style.  Each class will conclude with a beautiful creative phrase that ties it all together on rhythms of Arabic music.  Some homework and creative exercises will be given between the 2 sessions.
